How much does it cost to get professional photos of your dog?

Did you know that this is the number one question people ask Google about Pet Photography?  So let me answer that for you.
Dog lovers, now see dogs as family members, not just pets. I have to admit that I find it weird to even say dog instead of furbaby!
Like wedding photographers and family photographers, there are dog photographers for different budgets. I found that when I had my daughter in 2019, a lot of family photographers said I was welcome to bring my dog Lulu but she was not seen as a valued member of the family and was only in the background of a couple of photos.

Here are some points to consider when choosing a dog photographer for your family.

  1. Experience, expertise and knowledge matters. It matters for your experience and safety at the session. I have been a dog lover all my life and have volunteered with rescue dogs for more than 8 years. I have worked with all different dog breeds and I’m aware of dogs body language. I would never put a dog in an uncomfortable position for a photo. I am proud all my dog knowledge and continue to do courses to learn more so I can be a better pet photographer and volunteer.
  2. Learning about your dog before your session. Some photographers won’t even ask your dogs name before your session. I want to know everything about your baby. Their name, their breed, their age, their quirks or fears (I don’t judge, again it’s for their safety), their favourite things to do etc. When you book with me, you will fill in a questionnaire and then we will have a phone call to go over the answers. When we meet for your session, you’ll already be relaxed, knowing that you are in good hands.
  3. Location. From the information you have given me, we will choose the perfect location for you and your furbaby to have the best session. It will be selected so your furbaby has fun, feels confident and safe.
  4. The extras after the session. Most people book a session and think they are just paying for that hour to 1.5 hours of the shoot. There are so many “hidden”costs that go into giving you a wonderful customer experience. Quality equipment, editing software, the time it takes to edit the photos, and all the other subscriptions to make the process easy for the client to view their gallery and download the images.
  5. Art: I am passionate about providing more than digital files for you to share on social media. I know most people just keep those photos on their phone and never bother to print them out. I take the hassle of designing and printing away from you. I will send you mock ups and if you like them, it’s a simple as a click to order them. I have many beautiful images in my home of my soul dog Lulu, that make me smile every day when I look at them on my walls. I want to provide the same thing for you. I always say you can never have too many photos and you will never regret having a professional session, capturing your love and connection rather than a selfie. The same goes for having your unique images made into art rather than just being on your phone.
